Share documents with students and their parents

Use case

  • Students can only see specific documents.
  • Parents can only see specific documents.
  • Teachers can see all documents.

Solution

Students and parents can only see specific documents, while teachers can see all.

Create groups

  1. Navigate to DOCman > Groups > New.
  2. Create 3 user groups: Students, Teachers and Parents.

Create Documents page

  1. Navigate to Pages > Add New or edit and existing Page.
  2. Set Title to Documents if you are creating a new page.
  3. Add a DOCman hierarchical list block.

  1. Click Publish/Update.

Create a Students category

  1. Navigate to DOCman > Categories.
  2. Click New.
  3. Set title to Students.
  4. Under the Permissions tab set groups:
  • Students and Teachers in Categories View.
  • Students and Teachers in Documents View.
  • Students and Teachers in Documents Download.

  1. Click Save.

Create a Parents category

  1. Navigate to DOCman > Categories.
  2. Click New.
  3. Set title to Parents.
  4. Under the Permissions tab set groups:
  • Parents and Teachers in Categories View.
  • Parents and Teachers in Documents View.
  • Parents and Teachers in Documents Download.

  1. Click Save.

Create documents

Start creating documents in the different categories.
