Securing DOCman

In order to secure your DOCMan documents you can place your docman-files directory below your website's public_html directory, rather than in the public_html/joomlatools-files directory.

Once you have moved the docman-files directory you will need to update the DOCman configuration.

Go to Administrator > Components > DOCman and click on the Settings tab, once there click on the Edit button for the Store files in parameter and update the default path

to your custom path. i.e. /home/[server_account]/docman-files
